Apex Legends Season 14, Hunted, has Arrived

It’s time for the changing of the guard. No longer Apex’s upcoming season, Season 14, Hunted has arrived to become Apex’s current season. Before the release of the season, we covered the many topics that were to be updated during season 14. These included the introduction of the new playable character Vantage, as well as the updated level cap and Kings Canyon redesign. And now that the season has been released, we can make sure we don’t miss a thing that’s coming with this season.

Valkyrie won't soar quite as high this season with their new debuffs

The introduction of Vantage isn’t the only shake-up coming to the Apex Legends roster. As one can expect, there’s also a slew of large and small balance tweaks given to multiple characters. Valkyrie is definitely one of the hardest hit, with debuffs near across the board. Their VTOL jets have 8% less acceleration on startup while also consuming more fuel, and Aerial boosting & strafing take a 20% debuff when slowed. The explosion radius and slowing effect of the Missile Swarm have both been reduced, as has the total height and launch time for Skyward Dive. On the other side of the tweak see-saw, Newcastle and Mad Maggie have both gotten some needed buffs. Newcastle’s Retrieve the Wounded is getting a buff to speed and adding 50 more health to white and blue knockdown shields. Meanwhile, their mobile shield is nearly doubling its HP and max moving speed, and the Castle Wall’s electric barrier will now apply a slow effect. Meanwhile, the launch speed of Mad Maggie’s Riot Drill has doubled, as has the distance of Wrecking Ball. In addition, the Wrecking Ball can now do damage to structures such as Gibraltar’s Dome of Protection, Newcastle’s Mobile Shield or Castle Walls, and Loba’s Black Market.

As with every season, there’s also weaponry to tweak and shuffle around. Starting with the rotations, the G7 Scout, Volt SMG, Wingman, and CAR SMG return to the floor. The Bocek Compound Bow and Rampage LMG enter the crate. And the Devotion LMG and the RE-45 + Hammerpoint combo enter the crafter. The Gold weapon rotation for the season is Longbow DMR, G7 Scout, Mozambique, R-99, and Hemlok. In terms of tweaks, SMGs and Pistols no longer have a barrel attachment, but instead a Laser Sight attachment that can reduce hipfire spread. The base hipfire for SMGs and Assault rifles increased, and several small changes to damage, fire rate, and ammo were given to the EVA-8, Bocek Compound Bow, Rampage LMG, Volt SMG, G7 Scout, LSTAR, Wingman, Spitfire, and Mastiff.

A snazzy gold skin for the gold Hemlok, currently in rotation

With so many additions and changes to the game, Hunted is shaping up to be a very interesting season with a lot of changes to the meta, no matter what game mode you prefer. Season 14, Hunted, came out today, August 9th, and will last 3 months, well into December. Plenty of time to explore everything this season has to offer, crush your enemies, and rise up the ranks. Happy Hunting Legends!
